Summary
A cardboard record album covered in faded blue fabric. Printed on the cover in black ink are foliate swags and the words 'Record Album, Patent No 26340'. Two blue fabric ties are attached to the front cover and one on the back cover (with a press stud) are all badly frayed. Inside are twelve cardboard sleeves attached to the spine. There are six vinyl records inside some of the sleeves (one of which is also within a paper sleeve). There are two records whose labels read as follows: 'His Master's Voice, B.10658, Tunes For Children I' and 'His Master's Voice, B.10659, Tunes For Children II'. There are two identical records labelled 'Columbia Sellenger's Round, Folk Dance, 5734'; '(a) The Black Nag (b) If All The World Were Paper, 5734'. One record is broken into two pieces, its label reads 'Columbia, 5504, Epping Forest Folk Dance'; '5504, Gathering Peascods-Falk Dance'. 'Columbia, Molly On The Shore-Irish Reel, 4820'; 'Londonderry Air, 4820'. There is a removable paper sleeve and a square piece of brown cardboard. There is also a loose 78 record with a His Master's Voice label which reads 'DB.2100, Overture 'Fingal's Cave', Op.26' on each side. A label stuck onto this record reads 'Derbyshire Education Committee, School Museum Service'. There is a handwritten list on a sheet of paper listing the names of songs and the condition of them when played. This list has not been included in the number of items as it was not original to the album. Total number of items is 12.
