Summary
Six handmade rugs or mats. One has a black silk or satin backing and a black fringe surrounding a hand stitched wool tapestry panel with three floral roundels and a border composed of different coloured lozenges. Another has a red and black wool backing and a red, grey, green and brown wool fringe surrounding a hand-stitched red wool tapestry panel depicting a dog leaping over a fence. There is a maroon velvet oval mat which is decorated with a black and silver coloured bead fringe. Some of the beads are missing. There are two rectangular mats each with green wool backings. They each have a hand-stitched wool tapestry panel composed of multi-coloured geometric shapes. Finally there is an embroidered rug with a black background and floral design, eight large bouquets and fourteen smaller bouquets, eleven of which are only partially shown. This is possibly Berlin woolwork. Wool embroidered on to tapestry canvas with a brown fabric backing. Total number of items is 6.
