Summary

A rectangular cardboard box with a hinged lid, both covered with a leather imitation black paper. Impressed in gold coloured lettering on the centre of the lid is 'Windsor And Newton's 'Newinlac' And Poster Colours, Brush Lacquer Decorating Outfit'. The interior of the box is sub-divided into compartments. From front to back and from left to right these contain the following: a circular ceramic palette dish; a black pencil produced by the Eagle Pencil Co. London; another circular ceramic palette dish; a wooden napkin ring; a bottle of pale blue 'Newinlac' lacquer, a bottle of green 'Newinlac' lacquer; a bottle of filler; two bottles of brown 'Newinlac' lacquer; another napkin ring; two circular ceramic palette dishes; five bottles of 'Newinlac' lacquer (yellow, orange, red, heliotrope and black); two more circular ceramic palette dishes; a small tube of Chinese white poster paint; five tubes of poster paint (black, ultramarine, general red, light green and sepia); a bottle of zinc white; five tubes of poster paint (Chinese white, cobalt tint, vermilion, chrome orange and chrome yellow); and a bottle of white 'Newinlac' lacquer. Many items are packed with tissue paper which has not been included in the number of items. Total number of items is 33.
