A brown cardboard exercise book containing brown cardboard pages onto which are sewn a variety of sewing samplers. Printed and handwritten on the front cover of the book is 'Derby Series. Ashover Upper End School. Needlework Specimens. Executed by Hagar Edge, Standard VII, The Central education and pictorial Co. Ltd. School Board Contractors, Derby'. The sewing samplers inside include buttonholes, square patches, darning, pin-tucks, the foot end of a sock, a gusset on which is handwritten in pencil on the inside 'V. Holdcroft' and cuffs. The book covers and some of the sewing samplers are detached from the pages of the book. Total number of items is 4.
