Summary
A paper invoice for a child's mail cart bought from William Barnes, an Ashbourne ironfounder, by Mrs Goodall on 13th May 1905. Printed on the top in black ink is the address 'St. Oswald Works. Ashbourne'. To the right is the handwritten date in black ink. Below is the handwritten name and address of the buyer 'Mrs Goodall. Cubley Coppice'. Below in black ink with shaded letters is printed 'Bought Of William Barnes', the type of business 'Ironfounder, Dairy Engineer, Wholesale And Retail Ironmonger, Iron, Steel And Oil Merchant' printed below in black ink. Below this printing, the invoice is divided into blue writing lines with a margin on the left and three margins on the right for the price. The item bought '1. Child's mail cart' is handwritten below with the price £2.10.0 and an additional £2.0. making £2.8.0. A red one penny postage stamp with an illustration of Edward VII is pasted onto the invoice. Over the stamp has been signed the initials 'C.H.W.'
