Summary
A square cardboard box with a removable lid. The lid is printed with white lace and colourful flowers. Inside is a white cotton or linen commemorative handkerchief produced to celebrate the coronation of King Edward VIII on 12th May 1937. In the centre of the handkerchief is a printed head and shoulders portrait bust of the king above which is a crown flanked by two union jack flags. Beneath the king is printed 'Long Live The King'. Around all four edges of the handkerchief are printed images of different things related to the king's life prior to his coronation, beginning with his place of birth at the White Lodge, Richmond and ending with being proclaimed king on 22nd January 1936. Also found in the above square cardboard box with a removable lid decorated with printed white lace and colourful flowers, is a glass beaded bag. The top and the bottom of the bag has a blue band of glass beads decorated with white flowers with green leaves. In the centre of the bag is a white band of glass beads decorated with red and pink roses and blue forget-me-nots. There is a large wooden bead covered with tiny blue glass beads and blue glass bead loops attached to the bottom of the exterior of the bag. At the top of the bag is a drawstring with a large wooden bead also covered in tiny blue glass beads and blue glass bead loops. The interior of the bag is lined with white leather. Total number of items is 4.
