Summary
A table top horse race game called 'The Favourite The New Mechanical Race Game'. The game consists of three metal race horses and riders. The jockey on the white horse wears green and red silks, the jockey on the brown horse wears yellow and green silks and the jockey on the black horse wears blue and white silks. Each horse stands on a rectangular green painted metal stand. At the front end is a metal hook which in turn is attached to a loop. At the back end of the rectangular stand is a hole through which a long piece of string is threaded. A cardboard and wood winning post is supported on a square green stand. The red, rectangular cardboard box is subdivided into six compartments which contain three twisted pieces of wire; a hexagonal ivory or bone dice with a spindle; and a length of string wound around a piece of cardboard on which is printed 'Value'. The box lid is decorated with a colour image of children playing the horse race game on a table top. Inside the box lid is a printed label of instructions. Total number of items is 16.
