Summary
A game entitled 'The New Puzzle' in it's original box, possibly early 20th century/Edwardian. The game is inside a square red cardboard box with a square printed label stuck on the top reading '6D By Royal Letters Patent 6D, The New Puzzle' in coloured text. There is a diagram of a six pointed star, which represents the appearance of the board inside. Inside this star is printed 'Marvellous "26" '. Additional text includes publisher details and explanations of the virtues of the game. On the reverse of the lid are printed instruction of how to play the game and it appears that the aim of the puzzle is to place the counters on the star so that each line adds up to twenty six. The inside of the base has a blue six pointed star printed on it, which has twelve round cut-out holes for twelve counters. There are twelve black cardboard counters with the numbers 1 to 12 printed in gold. Also included is a blue linen bag for the counters to be stored in. Total number of items is 15.
