Summary
A framed watercolour painting of the deercote belonging to Sudbury Hall. It has been signed twice, once in black ('A H Wilson') and then in white ('A H Wilson' and 'Mch 3rd 1914'). It is mainly painted in light brown, with several green trees around it. The mount is made from thick gold-coloured cardboard. The glass-fronted frame is large and heavy and made from wood covered with moulded composition then painted gold. The composition has chipped off at two of the corners. At each side of the back is a metal eye. These are joined together with a piece of white cord, for hanging the painting.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr E. Allsop in May 1974.
