Summary
'Etudes, Geographiques' educational blocks in a wooden box with a separate lid, containing wooden cubes and maps. Probably published by 'Logerot & Gaultier', circa 1880. The box is covered in green, brown and cream squared patterning. A large maroon label in the centre of the lid has 'Etudes, Geographiques' printed in gold with a gold swirling edging pattern. The box fastens with a small metal clasp. Inside are thirty wooden picture cubes and six paper maps. The blocks form pictures of Europe, Africa, America, Asia, France and the world, to correspond with the paper maps. These are mainly coloured in green, pink and yellow, showing different countries, and in the case of France, departments. The inside of the lid is white with red round the edges, and has two red tapes stretched across to hold the maps. Total number of items is 38.
