Summary

A metal model tractor set in its original box. The box is made of cardboard and is in two parts - the base is covered in pale blue textured paper, the lid is covered in paper colour-printed with images of the tractor and its various attachments (labelled) and scenes depicting a real farm with a tractor being used, along with 'Mettoy Playthings' and 'Modern Farming, Mechanical Tractor Set'. The box is broken at two corners and repaired with sellotape (now unstuck), and there are several drawings and scribbles inside the lid. The tractor and all its attachments are made from metal and painted to show their details. In several places the paint is chipped or worn off. The tractor is mainly green with a yellow radiator grille, a yellow floor, yellow wheels, grey tyres and black details and seat. There is also a tippable red trailer with yellow and black wheels, a red and green disc harrow, a red and green hay rake with silver-coloured wheels and a red and green mowing machine with silver-coloured wheels. Also in the box are four objects which do not seem to belong here - two dark green rails (for attaching to each end of a trailer to increase its capacity) which are the wrong size for this tractor's trailer; a gold-coloured metal 'Meccano' wheel; a curved piece of black plastic, possibly from a wheel or disc, which has a black and red label reading 'Made In Germ'. Total number of items is 11.

Marks and inscriptions
