Summary
A Meccano set, number 5. The box has a coloured lid with a green vertical stripe on the left and a red one on the right. In the middle is a picture of a reconstructed crane. Across the top is printed in small letters 'Made In England By Meccano Limited' and in big letters 'Meccano'. There is a big white 'M' on the red stripe. Inside the box is a yellow plastic tray to hold the components and two books of models for the outfits, one 0-1 and one 4-5-6. The components consist of a green box of nuts and bolts and springs, two spanners, one length of string, seventy four green metal pieces, eight wheels with tyres, six wheels, two tyres, four discs with holes in, sixteen connecting rods, one crank, thirty five red metal pieces and seven plastic pieces that are similar in shape to some of the red pieces. All these pieces do not fit nicely into the recesses suggesting that pieces may have been added from another kit Total number of items is 494.
