Summary
A steam-driven metal model of a steam engine, painted maroon with a black smokebox and chimney at the front, a black cab roof, and a black underframe, wheels and cylinders. Just in front of the cab is a brass filler for the fuel (probably methylated spirit) where the safety valve would be on a full-size engine. The buffers and boiler handrail are also of brass. The paint on the cab and boiler is lined out in orange and black. On the cab sides is a small oval bearing the words 'Bowman Models'. The engine is of the 4-4-0 wheel arrangement, having a four-wheel bogie at the front and four large driving wheels connected to the cylinders by rods. The index card states that this is a Bowman Model 234 locomotive.
