Summary
A jigsaw puzzle published by the Great Western Railway Company (c1930s), entitled 'Historic Totnes'. It is made of wood, with a colour-printed image stuck to it. The box is made of thick cardboard, in two pieces held together with staples - one piece slides inside the other like a drawer. The outside piece has textured orange paper labels on three sides. The one on the front is printed in black with 'G.W.R. Jig-Saw Puzzle, About 200 Pieces', and has a small paper label at the top printed with the same image as the puzzle. The box is quite tatty and torn at one of the corners of the outside piece. The image on the puzzle is of a quaint street which has a bridge crossing it in the background This bridge has a window in it with a clock face above. There is a signature printed in red in the bottom left-hand corner but this is impossible to decipher. Total number of items is 198.
Provenance
