Summary

This is Part 1, containing the Daily Mirror dated Monday, September 4th 1939, whose headline reads 'Britain's First Day Of War - Churchill Is New Navy Chief'. Folded at the centre of the newspaper is a colour-printed poster of a glamorous woman surrounded by servicemen, with the slogan 'Keep mum, she's not so dumb! Careless Talk Costs Lives'.
