Summary
A large wall chart colour-printed on linen-backed paper (then varnished), with wooden battens nailed on at the top and bottom edges, headed 'Johnstons Illustrations Of Botany, Sheet 4. Pistal, Ovule, Fruit, Seed, Organs Of Flowerless Plants'. The chart shows various parts of many plants, each labelled with a number. A paper label on the back reads 'Botany, No. 4, Pistil, Ovule, etc.'. The top batten is flat, with a metal ring at each end, through which a length of cord is threaded, for hanging. The lower piece of wood forms a roller for rolling up the chart for storage, and is cylindrical with turned ends. The bottom left-hand edge has become detached from its batten, and there are a few stains on the chart.
