Summary
A toy metal cash register, a 'Codeg'. The main piece is made from silver-coloured metal which has been painted a red metallic colour, but much of this has worn off and the metal is very rusty. The drawer is missing, but the piece which would cover the top of the drawer is painted cream. The keys, marked in pre-decimal British currency, are moulded from red, yellow and blue plastic. The display 'windows' at the front and back of the top are made of clear plastic, and the price indicators are rectangles of metal painted white with black prices. 'No Sale' is painted red.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mrs N Haley in 1986.
