Summary
A homemade game based on identifying advertisements, in a white card box with gold coloured and red printing. It held 'Christmas Auto Stationery' by 'Raphael Tuck & Son Ltd'. The lettering, in red, overlays an artists easel and palette logo. Handwritten on the lid is 'Adverts'. Inside are fifteen plain white envelopes which are numbered in pencil, one envelope addressed to Miss Blezard, one blue envelope sent to Mrs Taylor, three handwritten lists (one on the back of an envelope posted in 1926) and 49 adverts cut from newspapers and magazines. E.g. adverts for Robinson's jam, Staples mattress and Cerebor salt. The adverts are numbered and the product and maker's name have been cut away. One of the written lists gives the products to correspond with the numbered adverts. Total number of items is 69.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr and Mrs P. Andrews in January 1988.
