Summary
A game entitled 'Belisha' consists of 52 cards (the joker is missing), a 15-page orange booklet of rules and the original, cardboard box (1937). It is a form of the card game 'Rummy' and 'has been carefully designed to stimulate road consciousness and make a helpful contribution to the 'Safety First' campaign.' The colourful, picture cards depict a motor journey from London to Oban and consist of thirteen sets of four cards; the numbers are in the top right and traffic signs depicted in the top left corner. The reverse side of the cards are white with blue traffic signs. 'Belisha' is written at the top and bottom in an arc and 'Pepys Series' written in blue in a circle in the middle. The box and lid are lined with gold-coloured patterned paper. Total number of items is 54.
