Summary
A game entitled 'Pit' in its original cardboard box. The game consists of 64 colour printed playing-card size cards, each of which have a blue printed illustration on the reverse showing a scene of industry at the docks and on the front a black and white illustration of men in the 'Corn Exchange'. A number appears in the centre, and a word at the top left and bottom right-hand corners. The cards are as follows: nine card with '75' in the centre and 'Corn' at the corners; nine cards with '40' in the centre and 'Flax' at the corners; nine cards with '60' at the centre and 'Oats' at the corners; nine cards with '85' at the centre and 'Barley' at the corners; nine cards with '100' at the centre and 'Wheat' at the corners; nine cards with '70' at the centre and 'Rye' at the corners; eight cards with '50' at the centre and 'Hay' at the corners; two cards, one with an illustration of a bull and the other with an illustration of a bear with copyright details. The original cardboard box has a red rectangular base and lid, the base is divided into two compartments. The lid has gold coloured text reading 'Bull And Bear Edition, Pit, Registered U.S. Patent office And In Foreign Countries, Exciting Fun For Everyone' followed by manufacturer details. There is also two sheets of typed instructions (not original to the game). Total number of items is 68.
