Summary
A wooden rectangular slate pencil box which has a removable inset tray with three compartments. The lid has an engraved pattern on the lid in green, red and gold, consisting of a central red diamond surrounded by four gold swirls, then a green oak leaf either side on a red background with a gold and green surround. Then at either end are swirls of gold and green with a red inset. There is a round hole at the straight end (the other end is rounded) into which fits a raised round plain wooden button on a short shank. On the base, in ink, is a drawn face with long hair and a lot of writing. There are two small wooden supports fixed in the base of the box. Total number of items is 4.
