Summary
A wooden abacus in very good condition. It is made from a rectangular wooden frame which is held together at each corner by metal strips. The frame has feet at each corner, the back two are slightly higher so that the abacus is raised at a slight angle. The top side of the frame has two strips of metal inlayed into it, for decorative and re-enforcement purposes. There are ten horizontal metal bars fixed inside the frame on which are threaded carved wooden disks. The top six metal bars have ten discs (two coloured black), the seventh has four discs (two coloured black), the eighth and ninth have ten discs (two coloured black) and the tenth has four discs (two coloured black).
