Summary

A set of MacMillan's educational pictures entitled 'Boyce - Today And Tomorrow Pictures'. There should be forty in the set but number twenty-four is missing. There are duplicates of numbers thirty-two, thirty-three and thirty-four, and there is an extra picture which does not belong to the set. The pictures are in a folder made from green paper with a white paper label showing the title, and the folder is inside a cardboard portfolio covered with dark red paper. The colour prints are entitled: 1. 'Clearing Up Time' 2. 'Getting Ready For School' 3. 'Doctor's Day' 4. 'On The Roofs' 5. 'Country Homes' 6. 'Village Life' 7. 'In The Market' 8. 'Dressing Up' 9. 'The Little Loaf' 10. 'The Old Man And The Goat' 11. The Little Mermaid' 12. 'The Treasure Of The Standing Stones' 13. 'The Wild Swans' 14. 'Tilly Tally's Toyshop' 15. 'Mrs. Macqueen's Sweet Shop' 16. 'Tom Tiddler's Grocery' 17. 'Joe Black's Fruit And Vegetables' 18. 'A Market' 19. 'In The Street' 20. 'A Coalmine' 21. 'At The Docks' 22. 'The Hospital' 23. 'Cars In The Garage' 25. 'The Railway' 26. 'The Airport' 27. 'The Post Office' 28. 'Rockets And Jets' 29. 'Fishermen And Boats' 30. 'The Home' 31. 'Making And Playing With Puppets' 32. (number assumed) 'A Nature Display' 36. 'Little Creatures' 37. 'Pets At School' 38. (number assumed) 'Feeding Birds In Winter' 39. 'Play In The Hall' 40. 'Games In The Playground' 5. (different set) 'The Dog Who Wanted A Home' The prints are all damaged in the bottom right-hand corner by damp or cobwebs or just dirt, as is the paper folder (in the top left-hand corner, as the prints were put in the other way round). The portfolio, basically a large, flat box, stapled together, with one of its long sides tucked in, is badly battered - dirty, torn, worn at the corners, spattered with white paint and possibly damaged by damp. The total number of items is 44.
