Summary
A large doll's house fireplace made from a wooden cigar box wood stained dark brown (from 'Bella Vista' doll's house - inventory number 661761). The fire basket is made from a metal drawer handle screwed to the fireback, and it contains a fire made from screwed-up red tissue paper. Above the fire is a mantelpiece bearing two turned wooden columns, and a higher mantelpiece on top of the columns. Between the columns is a square glass mirror with bevelled edges. At the front of the fire is a wooden surround like a very large fender, containing two square wooden stools topped with red leather cloth, one each side of the fire. The floor and fireback are papered to represent oak panelling.
