Summary
A doll's house sized metal laundry basket, hexagonal in shape. The laundry basket is painted green with a moulded pattern to create a wickerwork effect. The lid at the top opens and is hinged with a grey metal hinge. The basket contains various green and pink-red paper scraps to create the impression of laundry. Embossed on the bottom is 'Dinky Toys, Meccano'.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mrs Nina Hooley in 1976. Part of the contents of a large doll's house (catalogued as 661760) given to the donor in 1919, when she was 6 years old.
