Summary
An original wooden box for a steam engine, rough sawn, nail construction, the lid hinged on two looped wire hinges. The lid has printed, in black ink, the 'Bowman Models' American Indian Logo, with printed name, marked trademark, including 'Dereham, Norfolk'. Inside the box are accessories, possibly for the toy steam locomotive. There are: seven brass tube caps, closed at one end; a lead pencil; a blue painted metal dome cap with a steam tube; a blue painted tube, seamed on one side, with a cork closing the open end, possibly an oil container; a paint brush, possibly for applying oil to the locomotive; a length of woven rope type material, possibly the wick from an oil lamp; a length of woven fabric, weft and warp even in part, but interrupted and patterned with three red colour stripes running across the width, possibly wool. Total number of items is 14.
