Summary
A fine cream woollen child's cape. (1880s or 1890s) that may have been adapted in the 20th century. A net frill is attached to the lower half of the cape. This frill has three rows of ribbon and a cotton lace edge. Above the frill is a row of cream braid - part of this is missing. A length of bias binding, attached at the neck edge, is loose on the upper edge indicating that this cape may have been attached to a child's coat as the frill and material are identical. There are signs of insect damage. This cape may have been attached to a child's cape - inventory number 657737.
