Summary
A wooden case with a glass front, which has been used to display something. The front glass panel has a frame around it, and this is screwed in place at each side. The wood is dark brown and varnished. The back is covered with brown paper which was glued on and reinforced with paper tape and plastic tape in places. Some of the paper and paper tape is missing, other bits are coming away. Screwed in to each side of the back, near the top, is a gold-coloured metal eyelet and ring, for hanging the case up. One ring still has a short piece of string attached. Fastened to the base, on the inside of the case, is a turned wooden cotton-reel-shaped (although more elaborate) object on a piece of dowelling which projects through the centre of the 'reel'. A piece of wood is missing from one side near its join with the front, and the whole object is quite battered.
