Summary
A 1960s red and gold Peggy Nisbet 'Costume and Portrait Dolls' box for a Egyptian female doll from her 'National Costume Dolls' series. Series number N.136 (box only). The company produced National Costume Dolls from the late 1950s to 1982. The lid has a red and gold chequered design. The top has gold writing printed in a gold frame reading 'Peggy Nisbet Costume And Portrait Dolls' and on the side is a stuck-on label that reads 'National Costume, N.136, Egypt 32/6'. The inside of the box has two parts. The inner part has a broken cellophane top with a fleur-de-lys design in each corner and on the base are two places for elastics which would have retained the doll. The outer part is covered with red and gold paper, identical with the lid. Total number of items is 3.
