Summary
A long sleeved coat made of a brown woollen fabric which is possibly part of a child's fancy dress 'monk's' costume. It has a round neckline to which a collar is attached at the back and one front edge. This collar is attached at the back to fit all around the neckline. The fitted sleeves have a turned back cuff. The bottom hem is a raw edge.
Provenance
Donated to the National Trust in 1973 by Mr Gladwyn Turbutt. A collection of mid 19th to early 20th century children's and babies' garments (also three black and white photographic studio prints of children from the family). All these items came from the donor's family home.
