Summary
A sleeveless tunic made of brown woollen fabric which is possibly a child's fancy dress 'monk's' costume. It has a round neck and fastens down the front with hooks and eyes. The hem has been turned up, but is only sewn at the front edge.
Provenance
Donated to the National Trust in 1973 by Mr Gladwyn Turbutt. A collection of mid 19th to early 20th century children's and babies' garments (also three black and white photographic studio prints of children from the family). All these items came from the donor's family home.
