Summary
A parasol for a doll, made from cotton with a varnished cane handle. The fabric is white, with wide turquoise satin strips. The handle has a small chain at the holding end, which passes through a hole with a metal eyelet at each side. Just above this is a length of nylon thread which is knotted on, and may have been used for display purposes. About a third of the way up the handle is a metal 'cup' around the handle which serves for both raising the parasol and storing the ends of the spokes when closed, as it can be pushed down by means of a spring inside. The spokes are made of silver-coloured metal painted black. The top end of the cane is protected by a metal tip approximately 2cm long.
