A woman's long sleeved, long, cotton nightdress. The garment has a yoke across the shoulders that has feather-stitch along the edge. The garment opens at the front with four linen buttons and button holes. The opening is trimmed with a frill edged with lace. The rest of the front, to waist level, has multiple vertical tucks, a broderie anglaise panel on either side and feather-stitch embroidery. The back, which is plain, is gathered into the yoke. The collar has a stand to which is attached a Peter Pan collar. Round the edge of this collar is a fabric frill with a lace trim. The long sleeves are gathered into the arm holes. At the wrist they are gathered into a cuff which has circumferential tucks, and feather- stitch. Attached to the cuff is a fabric frill trimmed with lace.
