Summary
A cream baby's knitted bonnet (circa 1920 to circa 1940) . The yarn is possibly a mixture of wool and an artificial silk thread to give a shiny speckled effect. The bonnet has two bands of an open lace work pattern, one framing the face and one across the top of the head. There is a row of knitted holes round the neck, through which ribbon could be threaded. There is a piece of ribbon threaded through the openwork framing the face.
