Summary
A girl's stiffened white cotton bonnet - one part of a girl's Voortrekker national costume donated by the South African Embassy in 1978. The material is shiny and a bow pattern all over. The poke bonnet is very stiff with rows of stitching all over it and edged with a bias tape. The crown is small. Around the neckline is gathered a deep frill of the same material, but not quite so stiff. On this frill is a black stamped mark of thirteen small lines. The bonnet fastens with two long material ties, one end of which is stained. There are also black marks on the edge of the brim.
