Summary
Four wooden toys, consisting of two sailors and two soldiers. Each toy has jointed movable arms and is cylindrical in shape. On the base is inscribed the toy's and manufacturer's names. The toys are as follows: 'Joshua Marlin.' Joshua Marlin is a sailor with a black painted hat, painted facial features and painted hair tied in a pony tail. He is wearing a blue painted tunic covering a white and blue striped painted shirt. He also has a painted scarf and a watch on a chain. His trousers are painted white and his shoes are painted black. 'Admiral Mainbrace.' The admiral is a sailor with a pointed black painted hat with a gold coloured stripe. He has painted facial features with a black eye patch and white painted hair tied in a pony tail. He is wearing a blue painted open tunic with gold coloured patterns and three medals. Around his neck is a white painted ruff. His shirt and trousers are also painted white and his shoes are black. A 'Grenadier Guard'. The guard is a soldier with a black painted busby and painted hair and facial features. He is wearing a red painted tunic with a white belt. His trousers are painted blue and his shoes black. He has a painted sword. 'General Proudfoot.' The general is a soldier with a pointed black painted hat with a gold coloured stripe. He has painted facial features and black painted hair. He is wearing a red tunic with a blue sash holding a painted sword. At the top of the sword are the initials of Queen Victoria, 'VR'. The general has a white painted ruff, white painted shirt and trousers and black shoes. Total number of items is 4.
