Summary
This child's wooden desk has four straight legs, rectangular in cross section. The top of the desk is flat and the lid is hinged with metal pieces painted black, although rusted, screwed to the two outer edges of the lid. The lid is varnished a yellow colour but heavily worn in the centre. At the back of the hinged lid is a fixed part of the desk containing a round hole on the right for an inkwell. Across the full width runs a groove for pencils, and four Phillips screws can be seen on this part. The interior of the desk is dry with some small ink stains. `Paul Ashford Sat Here' is hand written in biro on the top edge of the nearside. There is a round hole in the base below the inkwell hole.
