Summary
Two prints. The first is an indoor scene of a man in eighteenth century costume seated at a dark coloured table covered with a red cloth. He is looking at a document he is holding in his left hand and has a quill pen in his right hand. The table is covered with books and papers. In the background is a partly open folding green screen, a commode with books on it and, hanging on the wall, a large dull brown picture or tapestry. The signature beneath the print is G.Gaymard. The second print is an indoor scene of two men seated at a table. The man on the right is dressed in a pale orange, eighteenth century costume with stockings, black buckled shoes and a pale green waistcoat. In his left hand he has a glass of red wine. The man on the right is dressed in a full length black ecclesiastical garment and holds a glass of red wine in his right hand. The table is made of dark wood covered with a cream cloth. On the cloth are two dark bottles, a copper coloured jug, a bowl of fruit, a plate of grapes and two pink plates. In the background, centrally placed, is a big dark brown cupboard, on either side are two symmetrically placed windows, one on the right part of a door. The signature beneath the print is G.Gaymard. Both prints are attached to impressed areas on the two pieces of thin card. On the back of the larger print is a circular blue stamp with 'AIDS LIBRARY DERBY'. Total number of items is 2.
