Summary
A long length of embroidery canvas, the edges of which are bound with pale blue ribbon. Sewn onto one end of the canvas is some grey, either silk or satin material. The canvas is covered with different samples of embroidery stitches in different coloured wools and threads. There are two pieces of paper; one is pinned on, the other sewn onto the length of canvas. On one piece of paper is handwritten in ink 'This should have a gold bead in the middle of each flower and done on fine canvas'. On the other piece of paper is handwritten in ink 'This looks very pretty for a bag when worked on much finer canvas. These patterns look ill from the canvas being so coarse'.
