Summary
A letter to Richard Richardson of Capenhurst near Chester, from Mrs Emma Constable of London, his cousin, dated Dec.18th 1818. The letter is handwritten in ink on both sides of a cream coloured sheet of paper. The letter has been folded in on itself to form an 'envelope'. On one quarter is Richard Richardson's address. It has been sealed with a red seal. She requests a further gift of £10 to pay her debt as her last allowance had been used to advertise for a situation for Emma as a dressmaker. She relates that Mary Constable has married a tailor. She wishes her cousin joy in his appointment as Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas. Impressed on the letter is a stamp Derbyshire Museum Service. On an additional piece of paper there are three extracts from a bank ledger. Total number of items is 2.
