Summary
A letter to Richard Richardson of Capenhurst, near Chester from Mrs Emma Constable of London dated March 18th 1815. The letter is written in ink on both sides of cream coloured paper. On the left-hand side of the paper is Richard Richardson's name and address. The letter has been folded in on itself to form an 'envelope' and fixed with a seal which has been cut away and attached to the centre fold. The letter states that her school does well in the summer but suffers in the winter because the parents cannot afford the fees, Bonaparte is back in France, She pities the French Royal Family and Her elder daughter has appeared after an absence of five years. She requests his remittance to enable her to discharge her rent. Impressed on the letter is a stamp reading 'The Derbyshire Museum Service'.
