Summary
A letter to Richard Richardson of Capenhurst, near Chester from Mrs Emma Constable of London dated Feb. 18th 1810. The letter is handwritten in ink on both sides on cream coloured paper which is folded in on itself to form an 'envelope', and fixed with a seal which has been cut away and is attached to the centre fold of the letter. The letter thanks her cousin for the £2 in reply to her request. She had been told by Mr.Newbury, Secretary to the Marine Office, that the Thames Frigate had gone to Cadiz. It is presumed that her son is on board. Her younger daughter had robbed her of her clothes and been away for five weeks. There is mention of the three Wright brothers, one at Rathbone Place, one in Russell St and the other at 6, Norfolk St. Middlesex Hospital. He is a Carver and Gilder and married to a woman who was her journeywoman 18 years ago. Impressed on the letter are the words 'Derbyshire Museum Service'.
