Summary
A letter to Richard Richardson of Capenhurst near Chester from his cousin, Emma Constable (dated 18.11.1809) and a short letter from Richard Richardson to Emma Constable, a copy of his reply. The letters are hand written on both sides in ink on a cream coloured sheet of paper. On the front is the name and address of Richard Richardson on the left. On the back, on the right is the reply, dated 2.12.1809. The letter is notifying a change of address to lodgings, asking for ten pounds for clothing for her son going into the Navy, mentioning Mr. Baldwin giving a recommendation for the boy and asking Mr. Richardson to do likewise and giving the address of whom to write to. Mr. Richardson replies enclosing a bank note for ten pounds but refuses to write a recommendation. Impressed on the letter are the words 'Derbyshire Museum Service'.
