Summary
A plastic doll manufactured by Pedigree and bought from Hamley's in the 1950's and named Josephine. She has open and shut blue plastic eyes with brown nylon upper lashes, an open mouth with teeth, and curly blonde nylon hair. She has a plastic body and jointed plastic arms and legs. She is wearing a yellow satin dress with a large collar trimmed with lace. The dress fastens with press studs. Underneath is a white cotton petticoat trimmed with lace, a white man-made fabric romper suit; white machine knitted socks and cream plastic shoes. The left-hand shoe is cracked. Both shoes have ankle straps (the right-hand shoe is missing one), The ribbons or cords which would have threaded through the holes in the straps are missing. The doll had a speaking mechanism which, according to a label tied around her left leg, is now broken. Also in the box there is a straw hat which is split and has long green ribbon ties. Total number of items is 2.
