Summary
A sampler of several pieces of cotton, on each of which is a different example of sewing techniques for different parts of doll's clothes including button holes, embroidery stitches, sleeves and cuffs. All the pieces of cotton are stitched together in one corner of each. On the piece with the different embroidery stitches is some very faint hand writing. On a piece with a gusset it reads '11 15 Do not hem Under gusset'. There is further illegible handwriting on some of the other pieces of cotton.
Marks and inscriptions
In the top left-hand corner of the rectangular piece of cotton, in red cross stitch: 'W.H.'
