Summary
A metal commemorative 'medal' produced to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. On one side is a profile portrait bust of Queen Victoria surrounded by the words 'Victoria Regina 1837-1897'. On the reverse is the following inscription in embossed lettering 'Victoria Reg. Et Imp, Born 1819, Crowned 1838, Married 1840, Jubilee Year 1887, Reigned Sixty Years 1897, Under Her Wise Rule Science Art And Liberty Have Rapidly Advanced, Her Example Has Blessed The People Over Whom For Sixty Years She Has Reigned'. There is a small hole drilled near the top of the 'medal'.
