Summary
A wooden baby walker comprising a green painted seat with a curved back and a cream painted tray fitted to the front of the seat (circa 1900). The seat is attached to a red painted frame on four small wheels. Fitted to the interior of the tray are two metal rods. On each are threaded with five wooden balls (red, green, blue, yellow and purple). A colour transfer in the centre of the tray depicts Simple Simon wearing yellow and his brown and white dog with a pie man, wearing a white apron and carrying a tray on his head covered with a green cloth.
Marks and inscriptions
On the centre of the tray, on a blue scroll: 'Simple Simon met a/ pieman/ Going to the fair;/ Says Simple Simon to/ the pieman,/ 'Let me taste your ware'.'
