Summary
A 1950s cream painted wooden baby's pram with black painted trim . It was probably made by Ashton Brothers (trading as ‘Osnath’). It has a black fabric folding hood with black braid edging decorated with a Greek key pattern lined with cream plastic. There is a matching black fabric apron also lined with cream plastic. The body of the pram is attached to the cream painted metal spring chassis with six adjustable leather straps with metal buckles. There are two metal axles attached to the chassis, each supporting two metal spoked wheels. The front wheels are inset and smaller than the rear wheels. Each wheel has a solid white rubber tyre. The foot operated brake mechanism engages on the front wheel. The curved chrome handle has a white plastic coated hand rail. The interior of the pram is lined with a white plastic fabric. Sitting on a wooden frame in the base of the pram are three removable wooden panels, covered in the same fabric. On the back wall of the pram are two identical spring metal black fabric covered bag clips. Total number of items is 7.
