Summary
A maroon-brown coloured doll's pram (possibly 1920s or early 1930s) with a curved body which is decorated with a pale yellow scroll decoration on each side. It has a folding, hinged maroon painted fabric hood, lined with a beige coloured vinyl or plastic fabric. A split metal rod on either side acts as the hinged mechanism. The pram has a tubular metal handle painted maroon, with a white painted metal hand rail. The handle is attached to the base of the body and supported on either side by a metal bar attached to the front of the hood. The body rests upon four springs above a metal frame. A pair of metal axels support two pairs of small metal spoked wheels with solid cream rubber tyres. A single metal mudguard (painted maroon or brown) covers both the front and back wheels on either side. There are brakes on both back wheels which are operated by a lever at the back of the pram. The interior of the pram is upholstered with a beige coloured vinyl or plastic fabric. A detachable mattress (stitched in three panels, two of which have a brown button) is made of the same fabric. On either side of the interior is a leather strap with a metal loop for restraining straps. The box shaped pram apron is made of maroon painted fabric and lined with beige vinyl or plastic. It is secured to the body with leather loops. A flap to the apron fastens onto the hood via two black elastic loops. Underneath the body of the pram is chalked the original price (50 shillings). Total number of items is 3.
