Summary
A child's brown cotton smock (circa 1850 to circa 1875). The sleeves are long with smocking detail above the cuffs, each of which has a white button, and at each shoulder. The bodice has a large smocked panel at the front and back with hand embroidered detail at each side of the panels. The collar has a small V-shaped opening at the front and back, and zig-zag embroidered decoration. On the left side there is a pocket at waist level fastened with a white button.
